Our History

James L. Moore founded Reliable Production Service in 1965. The company began as a one-man, local pumping service operation located out of a converted grocery store in Livonia, Louisiana. Reliable survived the oil industry’s challenging times and expanded during the good, and today has grown to employ over 175 people. In 2005, to meet the oil and gas industry’s growing cementing and pressure pumping needs, Reliable founded RPS Cementing. RPS Cementing works in tandem with Reliable Production Service on projects, while also performing independent contract work for some of the industry’s largest companies.

Reliable Production Service and RPS Cementing remain family owned and operated, and continue to maintain an impeccable reputation for high-caliber performance and outstanding customer service—all traits that were instilled by our founder over five decades ago.

At Reliable and RPS Cementing, our commitment to safety is present on every job site. However, safety begins at the home office long before our crews begin their work. Our partnership with Safety Environmental & Operational Training, LLC helps develop a workforce that maintains the industry’s latest, safest and most efficient work practices. We take aggressive preventive measures, such as behavior-based observation practices to ensure our crews’ safety actions, while also performing root cause analysis if an event does occur so we can communicate company-wide to prevent future occurrences.

Our hiring procedure includes an orientation process that assists in identifying the right personnel. This helps to maintain our excellent Experience Modification Rate (EMR) and Total Recordable Incident Rate (TRIR), which are below the industry norm and allow us long-term partnerships within the industry.
